Every learner stays connected to an on-site mentor, a dedicated learning space and active support at their home school.
Expert Teaching
Delivery teachers connect through at least two weekly Teams lessons and bring students together for planned practical sessions.

Students, families, host schools and home schools share proactive communication, timely feedback and a consistent reporting rhythm.
A Clear Pathway
Subject Brokering Process
The process begins with the student's pathway and home-school subject counselling, then carefully widens through all six options to find the most suitable learning pathway.

Pathway Planning and Subject Counselling
Students backwards-map from post-school goals, beginning with the Stage 2 and Stage 1 subjects that support their pathway.

Home School Offerings
The first option is learning available on site, where student numbers, expertise and local support are considered.

YPSA Collaboration
If a subject cannot run at the home school, the seven schools explore how shared expertise and student numbers can make it possible.

Rural Alliance Collaboration
YPSA can explore opportunities with other rural alliances across South Australia to broaden access beyond the peninsula.

Open Access College options are considered when a subject is not available through the home school or YPSA.

When another delivery option is unavailable or unsuitable, aligned alternatives at the home school or across YPSA are considered.
Working Together
Shared Agreements
Continuity depends on students, parents and caregivers, home schools, host schools and Local Delivery teachers understanding their responsibilities and communicating early.
Students
- Connect to at least two weekly Teams lessons and participate with cameras on unless another arrangement is agreed.
- Meet with the Local Delivery teacher early in the semester to agree on goals and expectations.
- Attend practicals and masterclasses and engage with Teams lessons, flipped learning and independent study.
- Meet draft and final deadlines and communicate early when challenges may affect progress.
Parents/Caregivers
- Support attendance at scheduled online and face-to-face sessions.
- Work with the home school on transport for practicals or face-to-face lessons where required.
- Maintain open communication and share concerns promptly.
- Encourage students to meet deadlines, seek help and respond positively to feedback.
Home School
- Provide ICT, a dedicated learning space and active supervision for online lessons.
- Confirm students have the skills and dispositions needed for this style of learning.
- Assign an on-site mentor to monitor progress and liaise with the Local Delivery teacher.
- Work with the host school on timetables, interventions and support for students and families.
Host School
- Provide suitable ICT infrastructure, learning spaces, teachers and quality learning resources.
- Agree on virtual and face-to-face timetables with home schools.
- Give at least three weeks notice of face-to-face lessons and practical requirements.
- Maintain timely communication, support teachers and distribute semester reports.
Local Delivery Teacher
- Connect through at least two weekly Teams lessons and upload recorded content lessons.
- Provide learning plans, semester overviews, materials, tasks and supports through agreed platforms.
- Monitor attendance, deadlines and progress, communicating concerns early.
- Provide formative and summative feedback and celebrate student success with families and schools.
Progress and Support
Assessment and Reporting
YPSA uses a no-surprises approach, with clear, proactive and timely communication throughout the semester.
Formative and Summative Feedback
Students receive regular feedback about achievement, next learning steps and the support that schools and families can provide.
Consistent Reporting
Where applicable, reports use the A+ to E- grading scale alongside an effort rating, with a mid-semester progress summary and end-of-semester report.
Adjusted Learning
Assessment and reporting for students with adjusted learning programs or One Plans is modified in consultation with the student, family and home school.
Shared Investment
Costs and Funding
Families are not required to pay for Local Delivery subjects. Enrolment remains with the home school, which transfers an agreed portion of the Student Centred Funding Model to the host school.
YPSA schools make a significant shared investment in Local Delivery. This funding supports qualified specialist teachers, curriculum planning, learning resources, ICT and physical infrastructure, administration, student mentoring, practical materials, masterclasses and face-to-face learning. By pooling resources across the alliance, students can access subjects that may not otherwise be viable at a single site.
